Project STREE is a dedicated initiative of the Swadharma Nirmaan Foundation aimed at empowering women through awareness, education, and health-focused interventions. The project primarily works on menstrual health and hygiene, addressing the silence, stigma, and misconceptions that still surround periods in many communities. We believe that menstruation is a natural process and every woman deserves correct information, safe practices, and a supportive environment.
Currently active across Shahapur, Murbad, Kalyan, and Bhiwandi in Thane District, Project STREE conducts awareness sessions, community workshops, school engagements, and door-to-door conversations. These efforts encourage open dialogue, break harmful myths, and help women and girls adopt healthy menstrual practices. We also engage men, youth, teachers, and local leaders, ensuring that menstrual health becomes a shared community responsibility.
Our mission is to normalise conversations around periods and build a society where women can manage their menstrual health with dignity, confidence, and access to proper knowledge. Through Project STREE, we strive to create long-term, sustainable change—making menstrual health not just a women’s issue, but a community priority.
