SEED (Sustainable Employment and Entrepreneurship Development) is SNF’s focused initiative aimed at strengthening rural livelihoods and reducing distress migration. Villages are the foundation of life, yet rapid migration is causing them to weaken socially and economically. One of the core reasons behind this migration is the lack of sustainable employment opportunities at the village level.
SNF believes that rural areas hold immense untapped potential. There are numerous local skills, resources, and traditional practices that can be transformed into meaningful livelihood opportunities. By promoting these possibilities, we aim not only to reduce migration but also to revitalise villages—ensuring that communities thrive where they belong.
Through SEED, SNF works to identify livelihood opportunities, train youth and women, and support micro-entrepreneurship models that can generate stable income in rural areas. Our interventions help build confidence, create local employment, and foster self-reliant communities that are ready to grow sustainably.
